In celebration of the 35th anniversary, the Rotary Club of St. Albert is proud to announce AdaptAbilities as the recipient of the Signature Project funding. The Club is committing $100,000 to support AdaptAbilities’ expansion into St. Albert and Sturgeon County, helping bring vital services to individuals with disabilities and their families.

AdaptAbilities is a charitable organization dedicated to creating possibilities for individuals with visible and invisible disabilities through life skills development, inclusive recreation, and respite services. Their mission closely aligns with Rotary’s valuesof service, inclusion, and building stronger communities where all belong.

This milestone project was made possible thanks to the dedication and tireless fundraising of the Rotary Club of St. Albert members through initiatives such as the Flag Program, RibFest and Garage Sales, and by the support of the Community that participated and contributed to those efforts. Club members' commitment to service above self continues to make a meaningful impact in the community.

“AdaptAbilities stood out during our selection process for the depth and lasting impact of their work, not only on individuals but on entire families,” said Darija Slokar, President of the Rotary Club of St. Albert 2024/2025. “Their commitment to foster belonging for all aligns strongly with our values. We are honoured to help bring these services to St. Albert and Sturgeon County, creating a meaningful legacy in our 35th year”.

“We are deeply grateful to the Rotary Club of St. Albert for championing our mission and making it possible to bring much-needed respite and inclusive support services to St. Albert and Sturgeon County,” said Michelle Hordal, Founder and CEO of AdaptAbilities. “Together, we are not only expanding essential services but also building a community where every individual, regardless of ability, can thrive and belong. This partnership is a powerful example of what we can achieve when we work together to create lasting, positive change.

The funds will assist AdaptAbilities in launching programming and building capacity in St. Albert and Sturgeon County to provide inclusive support and respite options for individuals and families.
