The event was hosted by the Rotary Club of St. Albert and Saint City Rotary Club.
Thirty-five community leaders, families, friends, and changemakers gathered to honour the International Day of Peace. Together we reflected on the importance of peace and the role we play in creating an inclusive, supportive and strong community.
We dedicated a Peace Pole with “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in 8 languages spoken in our community. We stood in unity and made a collective Peace Pledge to live with respect, compassion, and unity. As Rotary Peacebuilders, we believe peace isn’t just the absence of conflict. It’s the presence of justice, inclusion, and understanding. Peace begins with us, in how we treat one another, how we speak, how we serve, and how we show up in the world. And in simple words of Mother Theresa, “Peace begins with a smile”.
