Items of Note

Our annual Christmas party at the Royal Canadian Legion was a blast! Special thanks to Club Services Chair Kevin Malinowski and his crew for putting on a first class shindig. Pictured above is Cathy Heron, who ran the gift exchange Family Feud-style, assisted by our exchange student Lily Hammer (smiling politely but surely wondering what possessed her to give up a December of gluhwein and Christmas markets in her homeland to experience this…).

The Fabulous Jenn McCurdy is presented with her Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) badge by Foundation Chair Sandra Fenton.

Our fellow Service Clubs of St. Albert (SCOSA) have several upcoming volunteer opportunities:

  • The Canadian Progress Club SILKS is conducting an online auction, more details can be found here.
  • The Optimist Club is conducting a casino on 26-27 December and looking for chip runners and count room personnel. Please contact Lee Weiszhaar at stalbertoptimists@gmail.com if you can assist.

Adapatabilities is thrilled to announce that its new St. Albert Respite Centre will officially open its doors December 8, 2025, thanks to funding from our club!! This marks a major milestone for the organization as it expands outside of Edmonton. The programs launching in December will include Community Connect and Out-of-School Care / High School Transition.

Additional information can be found at the Adaptabilities website.

The Rotary Club of St Albert - Saint City is running a wine draw and 50/50 raffle just in time for Christmas! Tickets are on sale now until 15 December - for more information, click here.

The Food Bank is looking for reusable bags - if you have any that you no longer need, they will happily to take them off your hands! Just bring them to any Friday morning meeting and we'll make sure they are passed on.

The following committees will be meeting in the coming weeks:

Youth Services - Monday, January 12 at 7:00 pm. Location TBC.
